The 7th Annual Oshawa Rotary Ribfest 2008

Rotary Club of Oshawa’s hugely popular Ribfest returns to beautiful Lakeview Park on September 5th, 6th and 7th.


2008 Oshawa Rotary Ribfest sizzles weekend after Labour Day

Visit Durham’s original, largest and most successful Ribfest and find out what all the excitement is about. This September 5th, 6th and 7th (the weekend after Labour Day) the 88-year-old Rotary Club of Oshawa will host the 7th annual Oshawa Rotary Ribfest. Featuring 11 of the best U.S and Canadian “ribbers” and a wide variety of vendors, this weekend event will be held at the scenic Lakeview Park on the waterfront in Oshawa. (Directions & May link)

Free admission and parking plus a full lineup of entertainment are highlights of Ribfest. Along with of course the scrumptious barbecue pork ribs and other foods for sale from ribbers and a variety of vendors and a licensed beer garden. Oshawa Rotary Ribfest offers fun for the whole family with children’s activities including a midway and much more throughout the weekend.

This great weekend starts at noon on Friday, September 5th and runs until midnight. Things start cooking again on Saturday, September 6th at 11 a.m. and go until midnight. On Sunday, September 7th, Ribfest cooks from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Back by popular demand to entertain visitors to Ribfest will be Tom Hayes (Friday), the Dan Clancy band and Two for the Show (Saturday). As well, the Bernie Jessome All Star Legends tribute artists will be featured Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned to our entertainment section for the full 2008 line up to be announced shortly
